Join us this Friday, February 15 for an opening reception Vivian Maier: Out of the Shadows, an exhibition of photographs by Vivian Maier (1926-2009) from the Jeffrey Goldstein collection. Maier’s work was mysteriously discovered in Chicago in 2007 when boxes of abandoned prints, negatives and undeveloped film were sold at auction, the contents proved to be a  beacon of 20th century American street photography. Ron Gordon, master printer of Vivian Maier’s work, will also be present  to do an informal presentation.

Hundreds of eager visitors have flooded our gallery in the last week and the Seattle Times said Maier “witnessed life through the lens and now we can see her unique perspective.” Last Friday’s lecture and book signing sold out weeks in advance and we quickly sold out of books as well, but we are expecting a small shipment this week for those who would like to purchase a book this Friday –get there early!
